Room Reveal - Classic and Coastal Primary Bathroom Makeover
We have been slowly updating our primary bathroom for a few years now. When we moved in, the bathroom included vinyl flooring, a small shower enclosure and standard oak vanities. First, we added a frame around the mirror to make it look more custom. Next, we painted the cabinets dark denim and added brass hardware. We then waited a few years for the next step. As it always goes, we only planned to update the flooring from vinyl to tile and wanted to update the shower down the road. Instead, we just went for it and demoed the shower to create a larger tiled shower including a sliding glass door.
Overall, I wanted to keep the tile neutral so that the beautiful blue of the cabinets was the focal point. I had my eye on the marble hexagon tiles for awhile and knew they would be perfect for our bathroom. A very classic look with a little bit of fun added. I love mixing medals so I used brass on all the accents and black for the more functional pieces. This was also a budget saving strategy as brass versions of our selections were usually at a higher price.
I will continue to accessorize the bathroom as I find the right pieces for the space. I am picturing a large art piece above the tub and maybe some small display shelves above the toilet. I appreciate decorating and growing slowly so that I love each piece and don't feel rushed to just pick something. We will continue to update the blog and Instagram with any new changes.
