Why I Started My Interior Design Business

I have always loved design - graphic design, art, crafts, interior design...you name it. As a child, I was always working on an art project and high school, took every design class available until I ran out of classes to take. 

In college, I studied graphic design and took classes in art history, photography, design and marketing. After college as a brand manager for a home builder my passion for the home design process flourished from seeing the design process from start to finish. The most gratifying part of my days included witnessing homeowners visualize their dream home from a hand sketch and material samples. Finishes, details and color palette truly make a house a home and I enjoy being a part of that. Design should reflect the personality and needs of the homeowners. I believe a home can look pretty without losing functionality for your family.

At Grey Noll Designs, I want your house to feel like your home and reflect your family’s personality. Thoughtful design is the focus of my company. As a mom of 2 little girls, I understand the balance of beauty and function. I will work with you to make sure you love how your home looks and how it functions. 

Grey Noll Designs was born from a dream my husband and I have had for a long time. I married a Structural Engineer who manages commercial construction projects and performs all of our home projects (and relatives’ home projects) himself. It was always a joke that we were like an HGTV couple, he builds it, I make it pretty. 

Five years ago, we built our home and since we were just married and starting our life together, we elected for only structural upgrades and kept everything else the base finishes. Follow along as we upgrade our home with more than just paint. (There will be a big celebration around here when the terrible carpet is gone.)
